Bud Bowen

Bud is married to Virginia Elwood (Hicksville High); 3 married children, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. He spent 20 years in the Navy; ten in music and ten in electronics. (Played for Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy.) Lived in Iceland for two years and two years in Morocco. Was in Vietnam in 1971 in charge of the communications of the aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La. Retired from Navy in '73; lived in Minneapolis, MN for four years, where he taught at Control Data Corp. Moved to Fort Lauderdale in '77; taught software, hardware at a computer company. Also taught as a contractor for IBM and SUN as a UNIX software instructor.
